I've had the pleasure of selling a story to a new and upcoming magazine, Unstuck, based in Austin, Texas. Their first issue will be out later this year and looks very promising. The story in question is "Cloudberry Jam", also known as "the carrot baby story" by those who have critiqued it. It's a short little thing I drafted during the first week of Clarion. For me it was a medium-length story, at about 1000 words. Imagine my confusion when the rest of the class showed up with stories ranging between 3000-7000. How the hell did they do that in just a few days? I found out, in the end. Coffee and blind horror.
